I am Vishal Menon Founder and CEO of 3rd Wave Media, a Digital Marketing agency in Mumbai. 3rd Wave Media happened as a matter of chance in 2012 with just one project when I was in between Agency jobs.
Coming from a staunch South Indian background, my educational journey began from a CBSE School and then ended at the gates of St.Xaviers where I pursued my Post Graduation. I still like to believe that I am a lifelong student who gets no time to learn. My career began in broadcasting where I was creatively involved in a show called “Roomies”(No one remembers it) which aired for 2 seasons on Channel V. I do owe it to my boss at the time for transforming my work ethic from being a shy couch potato to one of top performers on set.
From there I felt the calling of my first love, advertising & marketing which led me to Concept PR, one of the finest investor relations and public relations firms in the country. I further transformed into an intuitive thinker and a self-driven creative resource under the tutelage of Digital Marketing masters like Dr.Kushal Sanghvi. Brainstorming and coming up with ideas and solutions for brands turned into second nature. I have been associated with Digital Marketing from 2010-11 onwards and have had the pleasure seeing Digital – being called new media to the mainstream medium it has become.
With the onset of the AI age, every creative agency head like me should evolve, update & upgrade. You will see a few thought pieces on AI and my experiments with it in the coming days….
The site story:
I have deeply understood the nitty-gritties of being an entrepreneur since I laid the foundation stone of my agency, precisely in 2015. The phase of bootstrapping and growing the agency in the last nine years, gave me a deep understanding of entrepreneurship, leadership, and managing client expectations from diverse domains.
Well, the agency remains my main hustle, yet I want to do something exclusive and expressive. This website is meant to be more of a creative outlet showcasing my thoughts on Creativity, Entrepreneurship, the Creator Economy, Marketing, Advertising, AI, and my full-blown passion for Photography.
I always had a keen interest in blogging and I discovered the magic of the internet through blogs written by Seth Godin, Lara Jade, Joey Lawrence and Malcolm Gladwell. This site is my way of giving back what I have learnt, read, observed and continue to experience in my journey. This site focuses upon my thoughts on Advertising, the Creative Arts, the Creator Economy and all things entrepreneurship. One can certainly enjoy reading blogs on versatile topics ranging from films, sports, digitalization, content, podcasts, and more.
I am sure if you are someone looking forward to tricks, tips, hints, and hacks, I have special sections dedicated to you. I hope you’ll enjoy my written pieces coming out through my research or the deep knowledge I gain through the smartest people I interact with…
I have always enjoyed working with different intelligentsia from different age groups and have trained approximately around 80 young creative minds over the past decade or so….I keep my fingers crossed and aim to make it 1000 in the long run. Brand Experience:
Even though Vishal Menon.net is a bit more of a personal site, people keep asking which are the brands I have had the chance to work with and uplift. So here goes, I have had the pleasure of working and shaping the brand journeys of Walplast, Drychem, and MasterMix in the construction industry. Seagate, Lacie, Rapoo, Maxter, Quickheal Antivirus and Ideakard fall into the technology sphere. Some of the other prominent creative work done by the agency includes Kores, VIP, Oman Airways, Jugheads, Northern Tadka, The Creative Group, Mystere Paris, Aditya Birla Group, Svatantra Microfinance and Atmopure Air Purifiers.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to podcasts in my spare time. I am not a fitness freak but I love to be flexible with racket & shuttle. I aspire to explore I like to be socially active on LinkedIn, Quora, and Twitter.
I am an avid reader and also a nerd who loves photography and traveling. If you ask me about my traveling journey, I am blessed to have traveled to 20-odd countries. I soon wish to be an explorer across the globe. I am obsessed with cars and speed, which makes me a Formula 1 fan(Pre Drive to Survive :P). Though I am passionate about cars, I love cycling and watching creators innovate on YouTube & OTT.
My dreams and goals to focus
One of my cherished aims is to be a podcaster soon and also start an informative yet entertaining newsletter about the “Creator Economy”. If you ask me about my mission goals then here we go:
- Every brand needs a good partner to reach its true potential! I’m building 3rd Wave Media to be a robust mid-sized digital creative team who will help partner Brands grow in the right way.
- Another dream that is on its way of becoming true is delving deeply into the Digital Publishing Space and building the Media Company of tomorrow.
- To build platforms, tools and communities that are beneficial to net natives.
